Anheuser-Busch InBev will report its third-quarter and year-to-date results on Friday. Here, just-drinks takes a look at the company’s activities in the Q3 period:
- In early July, the brewer completed its purchase of Pivovar Samson in Czech and claimed that the deal “further strengthens” its position in its long-running legal row with Budejovický Budvar
- In the UK, the group confirmed it would stop producing 50cl cans of its high-strength Tennent’s Super Lager brand
- The company also announced it was handing UK rights for its Goose Island brand to Greene King
- In August, A-B InBev revealed it was setting up a new unit in the US aimed at boosting sales of its craft style brands
- The following day, it was reported the unit was installing a new head for its Bud Light brand
- Changes in South America, as the group revealed it had cut ties with CCU in Argentina and Uruguay over distribution contracts
- In September, the brewer confirmed it was trialling a Facebook gifting service
- The group also remained predictably silent on media speculation that it was in talks with banks about financing a deal for its rival SABMiller
- Later in the month, A-B InBev confirmed a re-organisation of its European units, including a change in personnel to head up its UK & Ireland business
