Sourced from eight casks at the group’s Glen Ord distillery in the Highlands, The Singleton 38-Year-Old comprises 12-year-old Scotch that spent a further 26 years in different casks. The liquid was aged in ex-Bourbon, Pedro Ximenez Oloroso-seasoned and new American Oak casks.

Limited to 1,689 units, the whisky will be available from specialist spirits retail outlets.

‘The Singleton 38-Year-Old was crafted during … a time of flavour experimentation and innovation across our whisky-making,” said The Singleton’s ‘Master of Malts’, Maureen Robinson. “Selecting new American oak casks was very new for us at that time at the distillery, and we decided on a lengthy secondary maturation to continue to unlock the … layers of flavour in this single malt.”

Earlier this week, just-drinks exclusively revealed that Diageo’s regional head for Latin America & the Caribbean, Alberto Gavazzi, will be leaving the group after 27 years.
