E&J Gallo is preparing a line of single-barrel expressions from Californian Brandy Germain-Robin.

The debut bottling, a 19-year-old double-distilled Brandy, has been matured in Limousin oak barrels. The iteration was produced using Pinot Noir grapes grown in California’s Mendocino Country.

This week’s release is the first single-barrel Brandy from Germain-Robin since its acquisition by Gallo almost exactly four years ago. Further details of future bottlings in the series were not disclosed.

Germain-Robin was founded in 1982.

Earlier this year, Gallo moved to capitalise on the home-cocktail trend in the US, purchasing pre-mix shot brand Liqs. The move followed soon after the privately-owned group’s acquisition of the RumChata cream liqueur brand.
