Italian vermouth and bitter liqueur producer Strucchi is launching in the US, marking its first market expansion outside Europe.
The brand, which produces Vermouth di Torino and bitter “alla maniera di Strucchi,” has partnered with Brooklyn-based importer and distributor PM Spirits to enter the market.
According to a statement, Strucchi is selling four SKUs in the market: Vermouth di Torino Rosso (16% ABV), Vermouth di Torino Bianco (16% ABV), Vermouth di Torino Dry (18% ABV), and Bitter Rosso (27% ABV).
The brand's Bitter Bianco, is slated to join the US portfolio "at a later date".
Strucchi, founded in 2024, is named after Arnaldo Strucchi an oenologist born in Canelli, Piedmont. His 1907 publication, Il Vermouth di Torino, became a definitive technical reference for the category, the statement said.
The product range will initially be available in New York, with "broader national distribution" to follow.
Strucchi told Just Drinks "the focus is on establishing strong on-trade presence through influential cocktail bars and craft bartenders, alongside selective retail distribution".
The group added it "will be guided in the process by our importer, who believes in the project, knows the market and how to present quality products".
In the statement, Strucchi founder and owner Paolo Dalla Mora said: “The US has one of the most influential cocktail communities in the world, and partnering with PM Spirits gives us the opportunity to bring our vision of Italian aperitivo to a market that truly understands the value of what’s in the glass.”
PM Spirits founder Nicolas Palazzi added: “The vermouth shelf in the US is an increasingly-crowded one, so we only wanted to add a producer with a real reason to be there.”
The business already sells to a selection of European markets, including Italy and the UK, which is its largest. The business has also entered Greece, Denmark and Hungary in the last four months.
"Additional conversations are ongoing to open new markets during the next 12 months," Strucchi told Just Drinks.
Earlier this year, Dalla Mora established a low-and-no alcohol "venture builder" entity called Liquid Ventures. He launched the group alongside former Campari CEO Bob Kunze-Concewitz and Luca Gargano, owner and president of spirits and wine distributor Velier.
