According to a statement from the agri-food group, the transaction is part of Akola’s strategy of investing in “high-potential growth businesses” and will help in “strengthening its position in the beverage sector”.

Akola Group finance and investments deputy CEO Mažvydas Šileika said: “Our goal is to help OMG Bubble Tea enter its next phase of growth by contributing not only capital but also Akola Group’s expertise in financial management, manufacturing efficiency, export development, corporate governance and business development.

“We are confident that these capabilities will enable the company to accelerate its international expansion and strengthen its competitive position.”

Founded in 2022, OMG Bubble Tea exports approximately 97% of its volume. The brand’s products are available across more than 30 countries, including France, Germany, the UK and Austria. The company has a manufacturing facility in Panevėžys, which employs 51 people.

The brand’s flagship product is a ready-to-drink bubble tea. In June, OMG Bubble Tea expanded its product line to produce and sell functional carbonated drinks.

The company has launched OMG Fibre Soda, a drink made with acacia fibre and organic apple cider vinegar. A protein soda line is in development.

In its 2025 financial year, the business reported sales revenue of €9.5m ($10.6m).

Under the terms of the deal, the founders of OMG Bubble Tea will remain involved in management and business development. However, Akola will now appoint three of the five members of the company’s board.

Akola describes itself as the largest agriculture and food production group in the Baltic states, employing more than 5,000 people and operating across the entire “field to fork” value chain.

The Lithuanian group has previously invested in smart-farming start-up Geoface and functional beverage start-up Brite.

Its companies include Kauno grūdai, Linas Agro, Vilniaus Paukštynas, Kaišiadorių Paukštynas and Dotnuva Baltic.

According to audited figures, Akola reported consolidated revenue of €1.5bn, EBITDA of €95m and net profit of €43m for the 2025–2026 financial year.
