Diageo's facility in Amherstburg is due to shut next month.
The Stella Artois maker sold its 49.9% holding in the plants to an investor group led by private-equity firm Apollo Global Management in 2021.
Maxim was established after the closure of Vaux Breweries in 1999 and has since operated as a regional brewer in the north-east.
A transition period has been extended from three months to six after manufacturers raised concerns about the time needed to clear existing inventory.
In a statement yesterday (5 January), the company said Roel Annega is due to leave the business at the end of August.
WWF said the move sees companies “consciously undermine” the pact, which dates back to 2006.
“We’re evolving our organisation to unlock growth we see ahead,” Coca-Cola said.
Industry body New Zealand Winegrowers said exports to India are “very modest” but expects the deal to support sales.
