Wales-based Tŷ Nant has acquired two brands, Fonthill Water and Decantae Mineral Water, from US-based Primo Water.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
This acquisition is expected to “elevate” Tŷ Nant’s position as a “leading premium water brand” in the UK, while broadening product range and geographical footprint, the comapny suggested.
The deal follows Primo Water’s merger with fellow US packaged-water supplier BlueTriton, forming Primo Brands.
Decantae Mineral Water, sourced from the foothills of Snowdonia, supplies premium bottled water across the UK and Europe.
The acquisition introduces new packaging options to Tŷ Nant’s portfolio, including small plastic cuplets designed for travel retail and healthcare sectors.

By GlobalDataDecantae Mineral Water’s offerings will complement Tŷ Nant’s existing glass and PET bottle ranges, the company said, adding that the deal broadens “market appeal and accessibility”.
Fonthill Spring Water, originating from the Fonthill Bishop Estate in Wiltshire, in south-west England, is known for its “naturally filtered, high-quality” spring water, Tŷ Nant suggested.
This acquisition is not only anticipated to enhance Tŷ Nant’s product range with another British water source, but also to introduce the company to the water cooler market with 15L bottles for commercial, educational, and healthcare sectors.
Ty Nant chairman Raminder Sidhu said: “These acquisitions are pivotal in our vision to grow our diversified super-premium adult beverage group, where each product carries a deep sense of provenance, alongside our commitment to premium and sustainable offerings.”
The deals follow Tŷ Nant’s purchase of Llanllyr Source in late 2023 and Pentland Still Distillery in 2022.
Tŷ Nant’s history dates to 1976, with its official launch in 1989 at London’s Savoy Hotel. It has become known for its cobalt blue glass bottles.
Sidhu also outlined “ambitious” plans for 2025 that includes “introducing aluminium bottles and cans as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional packaging.”
The company is also “refreshing the ‘contemporary classical’ look for Llanllyr Source.”
“Moreover, we are set to launch new flavours from our award-winning Kings Hill small-batch gin distillery in the Pentland Hills, Edinburgh and we are expanding into ten new export markets,” Sidhu added.
