Ramon Bilbao has launched two new wines in the UK.

Limite Norte is a blend of Maturana Blanca and Tempranillo Blanco grapes from the north of Spain’s Rioja region, while Limite Sur is made from 100% Garnacha from the Monte Yerga vineyards in the south of the region. Both varietals are available through UK alcohol distributor Enotria & Co.

Ramon Bilbao added that it will be rolling out the wines globally but further information was not immediately available.

According to the company, the Garnacha grapes used in Limite Sur used to be the grape of choice for Rioja wines until the 1970s when the “more reliable” Tempranillo varietal became the staple.

As part of the maturation process, the Maturana Blanca grapes in Limite Norte spent six months in French oak casks.
