Pabst Brewing Co (PBC) has been forced to issue a statement over the potential future owners of the company after media reports suggested it was being sold to a Russian firm. 

A deal involving the sale of US brewer Pabst Brewing Co (PBC) has been hit with a Russia-related PR headache. But could it have been avoided?

It had to happen. This month has seen two US craft brewers take investment from private equity firms as they look to steal a march in the still, fast-expanding sub-category.

Brick Brewing Co is investing CAD9m (US$8.2m) in expanding its production operations after completing the sale of its original brewhouse in Waterloo, Ontario.

Greene King, the UK brewer and pub operator, has confirmed it has made an approach to Spirit Pub Co about a possible merger.

Suntory Holdings is to hive off its beer business, placing the leftover spirits unit under the control of Beam Suntory Inc.
