Speyside whisky distiller The GlenAllachie Distillery Co has released a new batch of its namesake brand’s ten-year-old single malt.

GlenAllachie 10-year-old Cask Strength Batch 7 was aged in a mixture of Rioja barriques, virgin oak casks and Oloroso Sherry puncheons. The whisky has no added chill filtration or colouring.

“Our defined objective has been to achieve a bold and flavourful yet balanced spirit, predominantly matured in Sherry wood, but with interesting twists introduced by unusual cask types,” said master distiller & company co-owner Billy Walker.

The latest iteration follows GlenAllachie’s 21-year-old cask strength batch 2 in February. Also last month, the firm brought out an addition to its MacNair’s range, Lum Reek 10-year-old blended Scotch.
