Campari Group has announced two distribution agreements in the UK for its Champagne Lallier brand.

The Italy-based company has appointed C&C Group’s Bibendum to distribute Lallier in the UK on-trade. Campari already works with Bibendum on the “majority” of its spirit range.

UK wine and spirits distributor Walker & Wodehouse will market Lallier to the country’s independent wine trade.

Campari has owned Lallier since 2020 and has been handling its UK distribution since 2021. The UK wing of the Aperol brand owner will continue to manage the Champagne brand’s branding and marketing.

The deal with Bibendum will “focus” on driving sales of Lallier’s Réflexion series, including its Rosé and Blanc de Blanc SKUs, Campari said.

A spokesperson for Campari said the group selected C&C as it is “the UK’s largest distributor”, adding its new partner’s “expertise in premium wine” will accelerate Lallier’s push to a wider audience.

In a statement, Francesco Cruciani, the MD of Campari’s UK business, said: “We have worked closely with Bibendum on our spirits range for the UK for some years now. Observing their expertise in premium wine made them the natural choice to launch Lallier’s uniquely fresh perspective on premium champagne in the UK this year, especially as we continue to scale the brand.”

In 2020, Campari became the first Italian company to own a Champagne brand when it acquired Lallier from the privately owned French company Sarl Ficoma. Founded in 1906, Lallier is located in the ‘Grand Cru’ village of Aÿ.
