The language of sustainability is awash with buzzwords and there’s a new one in town: carbon insetting. “More and more major food [and drink] companies are using insetting,” explains Sybrig Smit, climate policy analyst at the non-profit NewClimate Institute. “I’ve seen it with Nestlé and PepsiCo. I think it’s safe to assume that if these players are using insetting as a concept, it will take off soon and fast.”
