
Later this week, Brown-Forman will release the results for its third quarter of fiscal-2018 and for the nine months to the end of January. Here, just-drinks looks back the events that will have shaped the group in its Q3.
- The quarter started with a raft of product launches from Brown-Forman’s The BenRiach Distillery Co Scotch whisky unit. All three brands – BenRiach , Glenglassaugh and GlenDronach – added new iterations to their portfolios
- At the start of December, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye landed in the UK, just weeks after the whiskey had been released nation-wide in the US
- In H1 results, released at the beginning of December, the company reported double-digit sales jumps for its most expensive whiskies, which include Woodford Reserve, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel and Gentleman Jack
- Following the results announcement, CFO Jane Morreau welcomed changes to the US tax code, saying they would make the company more competitive on the global stage
- At the start of January, the group rolled out new livery for its Old Forester Bourbon whiskey to the UK
- A couple of weeks later, the firm released a range of bitters, tinctures and syrups, also under the Old Forester Bourbon brand, as it looked to further align with the cocktail occasion in the US market
