Vinarchy is launching an RTD sold under its Jam Shed wine brand in the UK containing cola.
Jammy Red Wine x Cola will go on sale next month at UK cut-price retailers B&M, Home Bargains and Savers. Vinarchy has secured a listing at Tesco, which starts in August.
The Australian wine major said it was looking to "unlock new occasions for wine and excite shoppers" amid rising demand for RTD products.
The company said it had taken "inspiration" for the 7% abv drink from calimocho, a beverage also made with red wine and cola and drunk in Spain.
Peter English, head of brand marketing at Vinarchy, added: “Jam Shed is a brand built on disruption and bold flavour and this launch is no different. Consumer appetite for convenient, flavour-forward options is only growing and Jam Shed is well positioned to capitalise on that momentum.”
Vinarchy said the 250ml canned RTD has an RRP of £2.50 ($3.37) for the launch in B&M, Home Bargains and Savers.
Just Drinks asked if the product would have a different recommended price for Tesco.
Vinarchy was also asked for more details on why the company, home to Jacob's Creek and Hardys, had chosen Jam Shed as the brand for the new product.
The company was formed last year through the merger of Accolade Wines and a clutch of Pernod Ricard wine assets..
Jam Shed joined the new business as part of Accolade’s legacy portfolio, alongside brands including Hardys and Echo Falls.
The RTD launch follows Vinarchy's move to roll out a canned spritz product under its Echo Falls brand in the UK in October.
