Germany's Stockmeier Group has acquired Dutch cream liqueur co-manufacturer Creamy Creation for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction was completed at the end of October.

While primarily known for making and distributing chemicals, Stockmeier also operates a food division, which manufactures flavours and ingredients for other businesses.

A joint statement said the purchase of Creamy Creation expands Stockmeier's portfolio in its food division, "especially in the high-growth beverage sector".

Creamy Creation specialises in developing dairy and non-dairy cream-based liqueurs, producing ready-to-bottle formats as well as concentrates or compounds for drinks producers.

The group also produces ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages and performance nutrition products.

It is "the trusted partner of leading spirits brands globally", the joint statement said.

Set up in 1979, the business is headquartered in Rijkevoort, the Netherlands, where it also manages a production site and R&D centre. It also operates two locations in the US - a production site in New York state plus a R&D centre in New Jersey.

Around 110 people are employed across the business.

As well as having presence in the US and Europe, Creamy Creation also "has built a strong position" in the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Africa, the joint statement said.

Commenting on the transaction, Peter Stockmeier, owner and CEO of Stockmeier Group, said: “With the acquisition of Creamy Creation, we gain access to the global food and beverage sector and gain access to the important US market. This is a significant step in strengthening our global positioning.”

Following the deal, Creamy Creation will operate under Stockmeier's food division.

André de Haan, CEO of Creamy Creation, added: “We look forward to close collaboration with the Stockmeier Food team. This partnership brings together competencies that can unlock tremendous potential for our customers in the alcoholic beverage and the nutritional beverage segment.

"The joint development and production capabilities of Stockmeier Food and Creamy Creation will allow us to even better support our customers in creating innovative great tasting on trend products.

"Synergies will further arise not only from the combination of our product offerings (both liquid and powder) but also from the strengthening of the global sales teams.”
