Spanish conglomerate MaserGrup has acquired local spirits brand Perucchi 1876 through its subsidiary, Vermuts Miró.

In a statement, Vermuts Miró said it is looking to strengthen “its leadership in the Spanish market by expanding its portfolio”.

It added that “both brands are set to benefit from multiple synergies ... at both the industrial and commercial levels" in local hospitality and "modern food" channels.

Perucchi, founded in 1876, is best known for its range of vermouths. It also makes Spritz aperitifs and liqueurs such as limoncello, arancello and coffee liqueur.

The business exports to over 10 countries, with the US being its main international market.

The company has three business units, one focused on the production and marketing of vermouth and liqueurs, DVVD Barcelona, which distributes wine, cava and vermouth for hospitality clients in the Barcelona region, and Vins&Co, a vermouth, wine, and spirits store in Barcelona.

Perucchi will continue operating its three business units, following the transaction, Vermuts Miró said. All staff will also retain their current roles and salaries.

“The Miró-Perucchi group expects double-digit annual growth in the coming years, consolidating its leadership in production and brand recognition in the market,” the producer added.

MaserGrup is owned by founder and president, Xavier Martinez.

Headquartered in Reus, Barcelona, the conglomerate also owns companies such as the baby food manufacturers Fruselva and Holle, the construction business, Tecnol and others.

It has forecast a turnover of €230m ($268.3) for 2025, which would be a 50% year-on-year growth.

The group employs more than 1,200 people across three continents. It has offices in the US, Mexico, Columbia, Germany and China, and factories in Columbia, Chile, Spain, among other countries.
