Athletic Brewing, the US non-alcoholic beer business, has secured investment from NFL stars Drake Maye and Dak Prescott.

Both quarterbacks have acquired equity stakes in the business. The size of the stake and other financial terms were not revealed.

The pair have signed “multi-year” deals with the company and will feature in its marketing campaigns.

A spokesperson for the company told Just Drinks the investment was not part of a new funding round.

Maye and Prescott are the only “athlete-owners” at Athletic Brewing who are actively playing professional American football.

The company also counts J.J. Watt, Justin Tuck, Lance Armstrong, and Naomi Osaka as other athlete investors.

The company also sponsors a broad roster of professional athletes in different sports, including baseball player Teoscar Hernández.

Outside its home market, Athletic Brewing is looking to expand in countries with “strong consumer demand” for non-alcoholic beer, including the UK and Canada, added the spokesperson.

Launched in 2018, the company makes a range of non-alcoholic beers including stouts, IPAs, radlers, sours, and goses.

Its drinks are sold across the US in more than 75,000 retail outlets.

The company operates brewing facilities in Connecticut and California.

"Drake and Dak are elite competitors, natural-born leaders, and thoughtful businessmen who understand what it takes to pursue ambitious goals,” Bill Shufelt, the co-founder and CEO of Athletic Brewing said in a statement.

In August, Athletic Brewing signed a new multi-year agreement with MetLife Stadium, becoming a non-alcoholic beer partner of the stadium, the New York Jets, and the New York Giants.

The business also sponsors English football team Arsenal.
