Jackson Family Wines moves US distribution to Reyes in seven states

The agreement covers Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia and Washington D.C.

Jackson Family Wines is shifting wine distribution to Reyes Beverage Group in seven US markets where it currently works with RNDC.

It follows Reyes Beverage finalising a deal to buy Republic National Distributing Company’s (RNDC) operations in 11 US markets last month.

At the time, Reyes described the deal as its “largest acquisition to-date” and said it would run the acquired businesses separately from its existing operations. Reyes also said it will add new employees and suppliers as part of the integration of the acquired RNDC businesses.

The latest agreement covers Colorado, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

In a statement, Jackson Family Wines said the chosen markets "are strategically important to Jackson Family Wines' brand-building efforts across the United States".

Commenting on the agreement, Tim Brown, the CEO of Jackson Family Wines, said: "Reyes has demonstrated tremendous strength and growth across the beverage industry, and we look forward to working together to expand our footprint and better serve our customers throughout these key regions."

Jackson Family Wines’ US portfolio includes the wineries Kendall-Jackson, La Crema, Cambria, Cardinale, Stonestreet Estate, Freemark Abbey and WillaKenzie Estate.

It also owns international producers which include Tenuta di Arceno in Italy and Australia-based wineries Giant Steps and Hickinbotham.

In March, the US vintner acquired the Oregon-based white wine blends brand Big Salt for an undisclosed sum.

Reyes Beverage Group operates in 12 markets through 55 distribution facilities, employing more than 10,000 people and distributing to over 124,000 retail accounts in the US.

Across its broader portfolio, Reyes delivers about 320 million cases a year spanning beer, spirits, ready-to-drink cocktails, non-alcoholic options and wine.

Commenting on the agreement, Reyes Beverage Group CEO Tom Day said: “Our people are built to execute at an elite level, and this partnership is a testament to building relationships around great brands to deliver on our collective success moving forward.”
