High Basin Brands buys RTD espresso martini brand Can-Tini

The deal comes amid what Texas-based HBB described as the “growing popularity of espresso martinis and the premiumisation of the RTD space”.

US spirits company High Basin Brands (HBB) has acquired Can-Tini, a ready-to-drink espresso martini brand infused with nitrogen.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal comes amid what Texas-based HBB described as the “growing popularity of espresso martinis and the premiumisation of the RTD space”.

HBB said Can-Tini is its second acquisition in the past 12 months “further strengthening its position as a next-generation spirits company focused on premium, culturally relevant brands”.

Jordan Rothschild-Noomé, chief marketing officer of HBB, added Can-Tini is “everything we look for in a break-out brand”.

The brand joins HBB’s portfolio, alongside Treaty Oak Distilling, a Texas-based whiskey brand, and Ghost Hill Organic Vodka, a USDA-certified spirit.

Can-Tini founder Henry Rathjen said: “From day one, Can-Tini was built to deliver a premium cocktail experience without compromise–something you could enjoy anywhere, anytime, without losing the integrity of a great espresso martini.

“Joining High Basin Brands gives us the resources, reach, and strategic support to scale the brand the right way. I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter.”

Just Drinks has asked representatives for HBB for further comment.

Founded in 2023 by the team behind On The Rocks Cocktails, HBB was officially launched in November with backing from a $4m seed funding round.

As part of its debut, the company announced the acquisition of Treaty Oak Brewing and Distilling, described as “one of Texas’ oldest distilleries”.

At the time, HBB also revealed plans to launch Ghost Hill Organic Vodka in early 2025.
