US business Bronco Wine Co. has acquired the wine sales and marketing business Resurrection Brands.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

As part of the deal, Bronco takes on "national representation" of several Californian wineries, which include McManis Family Vineyards, Provenance Vineyards, and LangeTwins Family Winery & Vineyards.

The wineries will still be "independently owned and operated", but will "benefit from Bronco's national sales, marketing, and distribution network to further grow their presence in the marketplace", a statement from Bronco read.

Dom Engels, the CEO at Bronco Wine, added: "This is more than an acquisition - it's an opportunity to expand our ability to serve outstanding winery partners and continue building a portfolio that reflects the needs of today's consumers.

"The addition of Resurrection Brands strengthens our ability to bring exceptional wines to market while creating new opportunities for growth for the wineries we represent."

While Bronco Wine produces its own brands, the business also operates a sales and distribution arm under its National Sales Division, working with on- and off-trade partners in 49 states, as well as a separate wines and spirits distribution service called Classic Wines of California.

The group's chief commercial officer Casey Tedd said Resurrection's portfolio "is a natural fit for our organisation".

He added: "The wineries represented by Resurrection have built strong reputations through quality, authenticity, and long-term stewardship. By combining their portfolio with Bronco's national sales and distribution capabilities, we see tremendous opportunity to accelerate growth and expand market presence."

In March, the group entered sales and distribution partnerships with the US brands Brilliant Mistake and When She Was King.

Bronco said in a statement at the time that it was “steadily broadening” its focus across different wine price points, adding the partnership marks the company’s “most significant move into the premium wine space to date”.
