Whyte & Mackay has unveiled a rum cask-finished expression of its Jura single malt Scotch whisky brand in the UK.

Available initially in the UK, Jura Rum Cask Finish has spent some of its maturation time in both American white oak and Caribbean rum barrels. The iteration is the third in Jura’s ‘Cask Edition’ series, following red wine and sherry-finished bottlings.

Jura Rum Cask Finish is available from this month in Tesco stores across the UK in 1-litre-bottle format, before the roll-out of a 70cl iteration later this year.

“Our Jura Cask Editions have been created to showcase cask types in partnership with the Jura distillery character,” said Whyte & Mackay’s whisky maker & blender, Gregg Glass. “The flavours offer interesting interpretations of our classic style, making them ideal for those looking to explore new flavours and finishes.”

In October, Whyte & Mackay unveiled a digital campaign that targeted consumers still using the Global Travel Retail Market in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
