Just when we all thought the days of transformative M&A in the beverages industry had passed, Heineken and Distell Group sit down for 'a bit of a chat'. The commencement of negotiations on a possible transaction, confirmed today, highlight not only that there are still bigger deals to be had – if you look hard enough – but also that the 'silo' approach to drinks categories is well and truly over.
