William Grant & Sons has handed distribution of Raynal French brandy in the US to White Rock Distilleries, but will retain ownership of the brand.

Worldwide responsibility for Raynal will pass to William Grant’s Scotland-based subsidiary, Quality Spirits International (QSI), from 1 April.

From then, Raynal will be distributed in the US market by White Rock and not by William Grant & Sons USA, said William Grant late last week.

The move is part of William Grant’s strategy to focus on core brand sales in the US.

“We know this move, with the focused attention of QSI, will benefit Raynal in the long-term as we at William Grant & Sons USA continue to focus our efforts on our growth brands here in the important US market,” said Simon Hunt, president and managing director of William Grant & Sons in North America.

Based in Glasgow, Scotland, QSI is a supplier of branded and own-label spirits to customers worldwide.
