The EU is planning to aim retaliatory tariffs at products produced in marginal states where the Republican Party would be most vulnerable in the next election. The EU Trade Commissioner, Pascal Lamy, is preparing a list of US imported goods valued at around $2.1 billion annually which could be subject to increased tariffs. Among the items thought to be on the list are Harley-Davidson motorcycles from Wisconsin, Tropicana orange juice from Florida, textiles from the Southeast and steel products from West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
