The soft drinks producer, Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc. (DPSU), owned by UK group Cadbury Schweppes, and PepsiCo Inc. have reached a settlement in a lawsuit filed against PepsiCo by DPSU in September 2001. The financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Dr Pepper/Seven Up had alleged that PepsiCo had violated antitrust laws because contracts with Yum! Brands Inc. penalised Yum for also selling 7up. Yum! Brands operates 30,000 restaurants under brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
