Two directors have resigned at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated. The resignations were filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday.

Reid M. Henson and James L. Moore Jr. did not qualify as independent directors of the company under new Nasdaq corporate governance rules. As a result of the resignations, the company said, a majority of its board members will now be independent directors, thereby meeting Nasdaq rules.

In the filing, there was no indication that the resignations were the result of any disagreement with the company.

Henson was an executive officer of the company until the end of May 2000. Moore had been vice chairman of the board since early 2001.
