UK: Police seize smuggled whisky worth £250,000
Over a quarter of a million pounds worth of whisky has been seized by customs officers in one of the largest alcohol operations during their "Crime Breaker" campaign, according to a report in the Scotsman today. The smuggling bust took place in Glasgow in Scotland, after police discovered 18,000 black market bottles that had entered the country illegally in a giant trailer. The revenue evaded amounted to more than £145,000.
