Italian liqueurs producer Luxardo has updated the packaging and recipe for its limoncello brand in the UK.

The revamp, announced late last week, will see around 25% more lemon juice and oils from lemon peel used to make the liqueur.

At the same time, the brand’s bottle will be lighter in weight by 10% and now bears the Luxardo name embossed on the side. A new, red Luxardo logo with gold foiling and a printed label showing an image of lemon will also appear.

The update will take effect from June.

Last year, Luxardo relaunched its namesake sambuca brand, together with a new range of flavoured varieties, in the UK.
