Diageo is keen to quell the Cardhu row, and will hold talks with at Westminster, it was reported yesterday. The group has met with members of the UK parliament on the all-party Scotch whisky industry group and, according to the Financial Times, has said talks will continue next week.

The storm blew up after Diageo turned its single-malt Cardhu into a pure malt, which is a blend of malt whiskies. Rival whisky companies have accused Diageo of misleading consumers and potentially undermining the premium single-malt category.
