Carlsberg is set to revive the ‘Huntsman’ character for its Tetley’s cask ale brand in the UK.

The brewer confirmed late last week that the character will appear on all Tetley’s cask marketing material – from POS, to pump clips, to glassware – throughout the UK on-trade over the coming months.

The return of the ‘Huntsman’ forms part of a GBP3m (US$4.8m) investment by Carlsberg UK in cask Tetley’s in 2010, the unit said.

The logo will also front a “big” outdoor marketing campaign, which will launch later in the year, Carlsberg UK noted.

The company also said that it plans to roll out a range of four seasonal cask ales over the year, with Christmas beer Northern Cracker making a re-appearance at the end of 2010.

Late last year, Carlsberg announced plans to increase capacity at its UK brewery in Northampton, following news that it will close its brewery in Leeds in 2011.
