Belhaven Group has become the latest UK brewer to benefit from the hot summer weather. It reported today that it was raising its annual profit forecasts by 4% to £13.9m (US$23.98m), up from its previous £13.4m estimate.

The Scottish brewer said it had also benefited from the competitive close to Scotland’s football in its half-year earnings. Half year pre-tax profits reached £7.64m a rise of 26.5% on sales up 19.4% to £47.15m.

“The half-year results were boosted by hot weather and a good tight football season, and the positive trends have continued into October and November,” Chief Executive Stuart Ross told a news briefing after half-year results.
