The Scottish soft drink producer and owner of the Irn Bru brand AG Barr has reported a 14% rise in profits to £12.2m, and despite continued competitive pressure growth has continued into this financial year.

The rise in profits was on the back of a good second-half performance, with improved year-on-year margins despite only a small rise in turnover, up 3% to £120m.

Robin Barr, chairman, said turnover in the first eight weeks of the current year had risen 4.5% on the same period of last year.
