The Turkish brewer, Turk Tuborg, which is a majority-owned subsidiary of the Danish brewing group, Carlsberg, has reported a net profit for the first half of 2003 of TL8.9 trillion, (US$6.4m/€5.9m), up from TL3.8 trillion (US$2.7m/€2.5m) in the first half of 2002.

However, operating profit fell from TL5.9 trillion (US$4.2m/€3.9m) to TL402 billion (US$287,000/€266,000). Gross sales rose to TL68.1 trillion (US$48.6m/€45.1m) from TL58.5 trillion (US$41.8m/€38.7m) in the first half of last year.
