By GlobalDataJust over 12 months on from the release of an aged expression, the company has lined up the Europe-wide roll-out of Equiano Light. Like its portfolio partner, the new addition is a blend of rums produced at Foursquare Distillery in Barbados and Mauritius’ Gray’s Distillery.
The company, which takes its name from 18th-Century slave and subsequent slavery-abolitionist Olaudah Equiano, will continue to donate US$2 per bottle sold and 5% of its annual profits to “ground-level freedom and equality projects”.
Earlier this month, Moet Hennessy announced the release in Europe of its Cuban rum brand, Eminente Reserva. The expression is produced by state-owned Cuba Ron Corp, which is the joint-venture partner with Pernod Ricard for Havana Club.
