Teeling Whiskey has unveiled the fifth and final bottling in its limited ‘Renaissance Series’ of Irish whiskeys – Teeling Renaissance Series 5.

The 18-year old single malt has been aged for around 12 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, before being finished in ex-Calvados casks for the final six years of maturation. The release marks the end of the namesake brand’s ‘Renaissance Series’, which was launched in 2019 to capitalise on the growing Irish whiskey category.

The distiller, which is part-owned by Bacardi, has made 9,000 bottles available through selected off-premise outlets in Ireland and key international export markets including the UK, Holland, France, Denmark, Italy and Russia.

“Like all good things, the Renaissance Series must come to an end,” said Teeling’s founder & MD Jack Teeling. “For the final release, we have hand selected some of our very best 18-year-old single malt to make sure we end this award-winning series on a high note.”

Last month, Teeling released a 32-year-old single malt that has been matured in ex-rum casks and barrels that previously held Pedro Ximenez wine, as part of its Vintage Reserve Collection.
