The Czech beer group, Budejovicky Budvar, has claimed a victory in its long-running legal dispute with the US brewer, Anheuser-Busch (A-B), in Taiwan.

Budvar announced that the Taiwanese High Court has upheld its rights to the Budejovicky Budvar trade name in Taiwan. A-B had argued that the name was too similar to its own flagship brand, Budweiser.

The Taiwanese case is one of 40 cases pending between the two brewers worldwide.
