Stone Brewing Co has released the first in a new line of beers limited to one production batch.

Scream Hazy IPA spearheads the One Batch Dispatch Series and is available from 2 September in 45cl-can four-packs from Stone’s own chain of bars in California and from the brewer’s website. The company will expand online distribution of the ale, which is brewed with vanilla and oranges, to Nevada, Washington DC, Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia in the coming months.

New quantities of Scream Hazy IPA will be made available every six weeks until the batch expires.

“We’re stepping outside our comfort zone to make these crazy beers that, from a production standpoint, are better suited for smaller breweries,” said Stone’s senior manager of brewing & innovation, Kris Ketchum. “These beers are just too complex or complicated to make on a large scale so it’s really risky. Our innovation and production teams are working magic to make these happen.”

In March, the Escondido, California-headquartered company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, launched a Belgian-style beer brewed with orange peel.
