The Connacht Whiskey Co has selected Spirit Cartel as its UK distribution partner as the County Mayo-based distiller expands into the UK. Under the agreement, Spirit Cartel will distribute the seven-year-old company's Connacht Single Malt and Ballyhoo Single Grain Irish whiskies in the UK. Connacht Single Malt, which has an abv of 47%, carries an SRP of GBP54.15 (US$70.99) per bottle while Ballyhoo Single Grain retails at GBP31.66 at a 43% abv. Targeting both the on- and off-premise channels, Spirit Cartel will supply the pair to major multiple retailers in London, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. It will also be “immediately” selling the expressions to all Pivovar Freehouses as well as Richard Corrigan’s Mayfair restaurant. “It has taken time to find the right distributor in what is a key Irish whiskey market, but the cultural fit that we have with ... the Spirit Cartel team, as well as the incredible range of premium spirits which they already distribute in other categories, make this the natural move for Connacht Distillery,” said commercial director Killian O’Sullivan. In 2020, The Connacht Whiskey Co appointed Killian O’Sullivan as its first commercial director. Tasked with international growth, O’Sullivan previously worked for William Grant & Sons as its global marketing services manager.
