Rwanda’s Government has reportedly said that it will sell off its remaining stake in the country’s Bralirwa brewer, which is majority-owned by Heineken.

According to local reports, Heineken is set to acquire a further 5% of Bralirwa from the Government. If confirmed, this would increase Heineken’s shareholding in the group to 75%.

The remaining 25% is set to be sold off for 136 francs per share in an initial public offering, reports quoted Government officials as saying.

Bralirwa produces and sells Heineken brands, plus Diageo’s Guinness and also bottles The Coca-Cola Co’s drinks. A spokesperson for Heineken could not be reached at the time of writing.
