RUSSIA: Regional investment for Baltika
The leading Russian brewing force, Baltika, will be investing US$150m in regional projects in 2002, the company's president, Teimuraz Balloyev, has announced. The BBH-owned concern is building two new breweries in Samara and Khabarovsk, each with a production capacity of 10m decalitres. The total investment in those two projects is around US$100m. However, Balloyev stated that Baltika would not be putting money into the Minsk-based Krinitsa facility until it has gained a majority interest in the company.
