The Polish Treasury is considering the merger of the country’s distillers Polmos Bialystok and Polmos Szczecin, according to local press reports today.

The reports quoted Deputy Treasury Minister, Jozef Wozniakowski as saying: “This is not a final decision. We want to see what consequences the merger would bring to the financial standing of Bialystok. If it turns out that the merger with Szczecin is not a threat to Polmos Bialystok’s development, we will recommend it to the Economic Committee of the Cabinet.”

However there were fears that the merger of struggling Szczecin with Polmos Bialystok, could threaten Bialystok’s debut on the stock exchange.
