New Zealand winery Villa Maria has announced the appointment of Corey Ryan as senior winemaker, based at the estate’s Auckland winery. Corey joins Villa Maria from Australian winery C A Henschke & Co in the Barossa Valley where he had spent the last six years working as winemaker. Before this he worked vintages in France for Chapoutier in the Rhône Valley and in various co-operative operations throughout the Languedoc and Roussillon winemaking regions.
