NORWAY: Retail beer sales rise to 143m litres
Figures released by ACNielsen put retail beer sales in Norway in 2001 at 143m litres, a 4.5% increase from 2000. Beer prices were reported to have risen by 3%. Analysts believe there is strong potential for further growth in the Norwegian beer market, with per capita consumption currently standing at 51 litres, less than half the figure for big beer consuming countries such as Ireland and Germany.
