A new industry wide organisation, New Zealand Winegrowers, has been formed to represent the interests of 600 grapegrowers and nearly 400 winemakers. The Wine Institute and Grapegrowers Council have transferred most of their activities to the new body. Its governing board consists of seven winery and five grower representatives.
