Lucas Bols has closed the purchase of Tequila Partida, marking its entry into the Tequila sector. According to the company, the deal, announced today, was completed for a US$10m “fixed component” as well as a “smaller variable component, which can be earned over a two-year period” from April. The purchase, first announced in December, sees the dissolution of Partida's five-year sales, marketing and distribution partnership with Edrington’s US division. Partida features two ranges: La Familia, which has an SRP in the US of $40 and above, and Roble Fino, which starts at $100. The Lucas Bols portfolio comprises brands including Damrak Gin and Galliano liqueur. At the close of 2020, Lucas Bols took full control of Passoã through a EUR71.3m (US$86.5m) buy-out from Remy Cointreau, bringing to an end a four-year JV that had existed between the two brand owners.
