Yesterday, PepsiCo acquired US probiotic and kombucha drinks producer KeVita for an undisclosed sum. Here, just-drinks takes a closer look at what PepsiCo has purchased:

  • KeVita was founded in Ojai, California in 2009 by Bill Moses and Chakra Earthsong
  • The company’s headquarters, production and bottling facilities are in Oxnard, California
  • PepsiCo did not disclose the purchase price, however a Fortune report said the transaction is priced at around US$200m
  • PepsiCo already owned a minority stake in the company, which it purchased in 2013
  • KeVita’s products are available in the US at local co-operatives, natural foods stores and several grocers nationwide including Safeway, Sprouts, Whole Foods Market, The Fresh Market, Giant Eagle and Wegmans
