Coming up at this year’s London International Wine Fair…

  • Napa Valley Vintners (Stand P25) will showcase nearly 60 wines from 24 different wineries on the generic California Wine Institute stand at this year’s LIWF. Available to taste will be wines from producers such as Cain, Cakebread, Grgich, Heitz, Honig, Robert Mondavi, Saintsbury, Shafer and Stag’s Leap.
  • Viña Ventisquero (PLB Stand N60) will be highlighting both its on-trade and independent-focused Ventisquero-branded ranges as well as its environmentally-friendly Yali wines, aimed at the retail sector. Winemaker Alejandro Galaz will conduct tastings of current and next-to-be-released vintages of his Herù Pinot Noir (2009, 2010), the new single-block Grey Glacier Chardonnay (2009, 2010) and Merlot (2008, 2009). He will also offer a preview of wines from VV’s experimental Atacama Desert project in Huasco – Chile’s northernmost vineyard.
  • Provence Wines (Stand F30/1) will boast around 45 Rosés – plus reds and whites – from the just-released 2010 vintage. Representatives from the following key producers – all seeking UK representation – will be present on the stand: Château les Crostes, Château La Mascaronne, Château Lauzade-Sénéclauze, Château les Valentines, Domaines du Lac, Château Henri-Bonnaud, Domaine de Fontlade.
  • Piccini (PLB Stand N60) has taken advantage of the new Vino d’Italia classification to launch Memoro, a blend of Italian varietals from throughout the country. Launching at this year’s LIWF, the brand will be available to the off-trade with an RRP of around GBP9 (US$14.80) per bottle.
  • LGI-Alain Grignon Wines (Stand G40/1C) will present several additions to its portfolio of wines from the south of France at this year’s LIWF – from Vermentino and Malbec single varietals to Cabernet Merlot and Colombard Sauvignon blends. New labels making their debut include the Esprit Soleil red and white duo, Château Campredon Saint Chinian and Les Parcelles Pourpres from Minervois.
