We reveal the skills that are in high demand in the sector, and the themes driving current hiring patterns. This new, thematic jobs coverage is powered by our underlying Disruptor data, which tracks all major deals, patents, company filings, hiring patterns and social media buzz across our sectors.

LVMH and PepsiCo were among the drinks companies most active in the recruitment of jobs linked to big data in the second quarter of the year, data shows.

Between the three companies, they had 545 jobs related to big data open for application in the period from 1 April to 30 June.

They were among the top ten consumer companies for active big-data jobs in the quarter, among the groups monitored by GlobalData, Just Drinks’ parent. Active jobs denote roles open for application.

GlobalData’s Job Analytics database tracks daily job postings across multiple industries, including consumer goods. As part of the research and intelligence company’s analysis, it groups jobs by theme, providing an indication of where businesses are focusing their hiring efforts.

Big data in combination with artificial intelligence has the power to revolutionise companies by extracting insights from large datasets and improving decision making. Big-data analysis can be used across all business areas, from inventory and supply-chain management through to product development and customer service.

Big data remains one of the most important themes within the consumer goods industry, as measured by hiring volumes. Hirings within this theme have remained stable between January and June, with a biannual low of 8,034 active jobs identified by GlobalData in April 2023 and a biannual high of 8,940 active jobs in June 2023.
