Sapporo Breweries Ltd, Japan’s third largest brewer, has agreed local production deals in Canada and Taiwan, with Sleeman Breweries and the Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Co., respectively. The Japanese company will produce more than two-thirds of its North American shipments and 50% of its Taiwanese requirements locally to reduce its exposure to currency fluctuations.
