Kirin Brewery Co. is to launch a new happoshu brand, according to reports. Japanese News Digest reports that the company announced on Wednesday that it will introduce Honey Brown, a version of the Japanese low-malt beer containing honey, in February next year.

The new beverage will be packaged in a honey-coloured can and will retail at 145 yen (US$1.30).

Kirin already owns Japan’s leading happoshu beer, Tanrei.
